The wealth of information is incredible here! (y)

I have been a ham for quite sometime but have been out of the scene for a while. I had actually sold all my radios and equipment, however, I am making a come back! :)

I just (today) ordered a Yaesu VX8DR HT. I have been researching for weeks and finally took the plunge. I was in the same boat as most of you who have been in the market for a new HT... do I get the VX8DR, GR or the Kenwood TH-D72A. The VX8DR just fit my needs. With it, I ordered the 1800mah battery and the Diamond SRH320A antenna. Everything should be here by the weekend. I am excited to get back into ham radio!

I will probably play around with the HT for and hour or so then crack it open for the MARS/CAP mod. :) From what I have read here... it is a pretty safe mod to do.

I just wanted to say hi and thank you for the great place to hang out and learn more about ONE of my expensive hobbies! LOL!
