I have a unused Ground Plane Kit for the Imax 2000 antenna.
My question, Can you use 2 of the radials to make a horizontal dipole antenna?
I saw where they sell a mount that you can use with standard 3/8 x 24 threaded cb antennas to make a rotatable dipole.

They will be too short as they are. You'll need roughly 8.5' length on each side of the dipole center for a CB dipole. The GP radials for the Imax are too short being only 6' long each.

goto h&y electronics.com sirio makes a dipole u can mount flatside and its rotable
or u can just mount t verticlly

Or go to Walmart and buy two extendable crappie poles for $7 each and put one together with some PVC, wire, and tape.

The Sirio SD27 on the H&Y website is sold out.
Wonder if they will be getting anymore of them?

there was a thread a while back where it was questioned if those elements were electrically long enough because they might be loaded around the FG rod like a fiberglass mobile antenna . i don't recall a answer though . :( did someone take one apart to see ?

if you don.t need a more permanent or long lasting setup you can just use $5 worth of PVC from home depot or lowes . three 10 ft sections and a 4-way . or a wood 2x4 and some 1/2 inch metal conduit . just different ways of skinning a cat .

Pretty sweet. What kind of results are you seeing with this.
I was looking at Walmart.com and all I found was a pole that was 6'6" long, but it does look just like the one you are using.

If you decide to sell the GPK send me a message annd how much or if a trade I have lots of things here along with a load of ASTATIC D104 and other microphones ;) I was looking at GPK for my IMAX 2000 That im using as a portable setup.

The crappie (fishing) poles are extendable. When scoped in they are only about 4' long, but when extended can be 10' or longer based on which one you buy.
At the local Walmart where I live I can buy the 13' long poles for about $7 each. The PVC fittings are a few cents each at your local Home Depot.

It works as well as any dipole you can buy. A dipole is a simple, the simplest, antenna to make and use. I have talked locally and skip easily with one.

I think this is what you are describing.
