imax vs i10k

Tried them all..

RF likes the path of least resistance. Find the antenna with the
least resistance, put it up, and TALK. Coils, wires, widgets, etc..all lead to resistance.

Straight and tall is best.

Enjoy.

Hmm, a 4 year old thread reawakened... Really...

DC likes the least resistance.

RF lines an impedance match, which is not the same thing. It doesn't matter if everything is the same impedance or if you have a conjugate match. If you don't believe that try puting a 2 ohm resistive load on the other end of your coax and see what happens.

DB, I don't agree with WWFrank's point either, even if there is an insignificant difference to be noted in the science, but what is wrong with reawakening and old thread?

Coax question. I just put up a new Sirio monsoon base antenna with 100’ of rg8u coax testing with myMFJ antenna analyzer shows 1.4 swr at 26.965mhz and a 1.1 at 27.405 mhz . When I checked the ohms it’s steady a 30 ohms across the entire bandwidth.

Is 30 ohms worth worrying about in a 100’ run of rg8u ?
