300 for a "400" watt amp isn't hard to see. I've seen these run for decades with no problems and high user satisfaction.

Seems legit to me. I watched a 1x4 that needed to be gutted and rebuilt with at least 1 suspect pill go for over 300 two weeks ago. My max on it was 200. Obviously I was out bid.

I see this gem has a class AB1 sticker on it too. Anyone know what tube is used inside? Judging by the price, heatsink and AB1 logo, it must use a conduction cooled triode like an 8873. Nothing says the builder was clueless better than adding the 1 after the AB on a solid state amp. That's as good as calling an SB-220 a MOSFET amp.

interesting choice of words. if you consider working for 20 years to be unreliable, what does it take to be reliable?
and I'm not saying it quit working at 20 years either, last I knew it was still going.
the 600 I knew of was fried because of user error, but it was abused for 11 years before he melted it.
I'd be happy to put my sig sauer against your glock any day.

If that's the case, then I guess I made out like a bandit, because I sold one like it, not as good looking, for $185, on eBay.
