So I eat at a local bar/restaurant that has wifi.

The owner has had the wifi a few years.

Recently he put up a neon beer sign about a foot away from the router.

When ever that light is on, it wipes out the router.

Never thought that was possible.

We are going to move the router.

Out of curiosity though

I wanted to try Snap together chokes to see if it would help

The ones listed on Radio Shack do not give a usable frequency range.

Anyone know what that range may be?

I doubt chokes will help, that router has no shielding and has to be picking up interference in every circut it has and from the cat 5 too. why not just change teh location.

H2,
I run NetStumbler on my work PC/laptop and iStumbler on my Macbook pro.

It is free and gives a a lot of info about what is in the air with regard to access points; dB of signal strength, frequency, S/N, channels, SSIDs, etc.

You may find something that may be useful to you.
