No problem brother.. I have a zerofive 5kw colossal antenna.. He also makes a 10kw colossal.. They are excellent antennas as I have said in a few other threads.. So glad I decided to put this up then the imax 2000 I was going to install.. Not that the Imax is bad, but this is just a much better antenna.. Anyway glad there is no more confusion between the both of us..

I'm one of those that truly believes one gets what they pay for.
With that being said I'm surprised at the postings I've read about zero five colossal.
Not to many people impressed with it. Especially concidering it price.
I guess if one's going to run 5 or 10k a macco 5/8 wave or IMAX 2000 isn't going to cut it.
I know the IMAX is toast if that type of power is applied to it.
I don't know the handling capabilities of the macco but I doubt 5k.
Did you go from one antenna brand (model) to the five zero and if so what were your results as far as recive and transmitt differences between the two antennas?
Any particular reason for going with the re27? I was back and forth between the pr40, re27 and re20. I ended up with the pr40. I was using an akg 220 before but it picked up every noise in the house.
Thought I'd throw in my 2 cent.
I've never heard an re27 or 20 but have heard many pr models. Especially the 40. And, once the operator has their station dialed in those pr40's sound sweet.
Actually all the Heil model Microphones I've hear sound very nice.
I'm not sure if their worth the price as I've heard a few of those Adonis and Shure SM (90) series mics that sounded wonderful. At less than 1/3 the price of the expensive Heil Microphones has me thinking are the priced Heil's worth it?
I do understand there are many variables in which to consider when purchasing a high-end studio type microphone.
Of course the equipment you're plugging it into probably accounts for the way you're probably going to sound on the other end.
But voice characteristics etc etc Imo definitely account as to which microphone is going to sound good on a particular radio with the voice that's talking into it.
There is a local in my area who operates a ts-570 with the cheapest Heil and one of those CB-(11?) PTT mic stands and, it sounds excellent.
I purchased one of those sm-90's when I delved into my mid fi experimentation.
I probably need not tell you what a disaster that was.
I guess the only thing good to come out of it was the sm-90 microphone and the $75 Behringer 3 band EQ. After using those two pieces of equipment in combination with my Uniden Madison it only took me two days to realize it really wasn't worth the effort or the money.
When I finally decide to hook up my ft-950 I have nothing to lose by giving that sm-90 a try. What the hell It's already paid for. 73
