I realize hockey is big up north in cold country. Everywhere more of a tiny market. I have generally been turned off of all "professional" sports for a long time because of the over-hyped commercialism and grossly over paid diva boys. I've down to watching only some pro and college football. I can't even watch my own pro state team.

Hockey seems like an organized street brawl where the fans aren't getting their money's worth if there isn't 7 or 8 fights per game.....all contrived on purposed to inflate the spectacle. Wrestling indeed.

Why don't we just call it what is it and demand the return Roman Arena?

Agreed.. people take GAMES way too seriously. Just look at that poor guy that nearly was beaten to death in California. Then you've got leaders of respected halls of education who would ditch the whole curriculum just as long as their sports programs are intact. Shit's a total joke if you ask me.. and very, very sad.

I enjoy sports myself, but to me they are never more than just games.

It's like we say up here "I went to the fights last night and a hockey game broke out in the middle of it all." I agree, too much crap going on in all sports really to keep me interested in much. Nowadays it's all about the money and nothing more.
