Well, now the video I saw did not exactly say that.......
It said that Texas Star was going to cease production in the very near future .......
And that an un-named, current, long term employee is very interested in purchasing the company, and is looking into doing that.

Good news for sure, weren't they part of Galaxy? Or is Galaxy part of the deal?
If I understood it correct years ago, Texas star bought Galaxy back many moons ago. Mr Mike at galaxy had told me that because I thought it was the other way around.

No telling if galaxy is wrapped up in the deal because Gk didn't mention galaxy at all.

Greg at barkett electronics had told me several months ago that galaxy was selling off Texas star so I'm assuming that galaxy is not in the deal. I was told just the other day from an unnamed source that the reason we're seeing little offerings from galaxy is because they're operating on only cash purchases from Ranger so the production runs are small bulk. Seems like they're operating on a narrow margin of capital.

That's what I'm gathering from the sources.

Like @AudioShockwav says, maybe John can shed some better light on the Texas star sale.

you are correct i also got that same info and the reason is because Ranger wants so much money upfront to build radios for anyone that wants a radio because they want to sell huge runs of it at one time but that would mean large amounts of money up front and i was told by a source i won't name at this time but when ranger stopped making the 2970N2 in order to get them to make them again and ship them the order min was 30 witch may not sound like a lot but thats about $20,000 +/- so if it was something new and they wanted to presell say 1,000 units thats well over $700,000 plus shipping and any other fees so its very understandable for that to be the main reason they have not made a bunch of radios sad really because everyone loses Ranger loses because they don't make the sales Galaxy loses because they don't have the radios and the customer loses because they don't get to buy the radios and the market is there but the available products are not parts is a huge problem to weather it be Ranger or HG someone needs to start making parts for radios old and new

If it is Mike I would think a few things will change.
There were suggestions made by him in the past that simply did not happen.
It would be a positive I think.

First goal is to improve quality of building with new (non related) assemblers. this is mike's response to me asking what some of the improvements will be if he becomes the new owner

According to Gatekeeper, it's a long time friend of his. Now, I've seen some of the upgrades that Gatekeeper has done and they're pretty impressive. Hopefully, some of Gatekeeper's (Tom's) upgrades will find their way into the new builds.
