Is Lester’s a reputable place?

Not sure but that picture of the radio face might be that way because it still has a plastic coating covering the front of the radio. Once pealed off it should look fine.

Maybe you’re right. I watched the video on one of these, and it looks like a very glossy paint. Maybe not photogenic? No idea, honestly.

At first glance, I admit I rather liked the looked of the Galaxy in black.

I would not do business with Lesters again.
Paid that fool for a radio and never reciecved anything. Had to go thru my credit card company to get my money back. I bet I still have those emails
Lol, yeah I still have them
He quoted me 8-10 weeks for and 8 weeks later he still hadnt ordered all my parts. After 12 weeks I opened a dispute and he never responded so I got my refund. Im glad I got my money back anyhow. I shouldve never bought a frequency floating 959 pos in the first place.

More channels than my antenna will work on. Seems like the channels never end when you spin the dial. I am exaggerating about never ending. But it sure seemed that way.
Thats why I like my rci radios, you can go anywhere you want within the bands. Simple and easy to read and no real modifications other than the e-chip.
I had heard lots of good things about Lesters and decided to give him a try. That was 5 years ago too. He wouldnt be in business if he screwed too many folks. My experience was bad, others not so much.

I've never done buisness with him, but that time frame is not unreasonable. Its not uncommon to be backup over a year for a good tech. And why would he screw ya for a couple bucks...risk a rep?? I dont buy it.

8-10 weeks was the quoted time, back ups arent my problem. 10 weeks later and hes still ordering parts? Thats whats not right. There was a lack of communication on his end. I called at the end of 8 weeks and never recieved a reply so I decided id leave an email trail so I didnt get screwed out of $385.

This was just my experience. I see others have had good experience with Lesters. Not all business transactions will go smoothly.
Do I think hes legit, yes I do. Should you always cover your butt, absolutely.
On a bright note I just stumbled across a pair of big iron 430-7102-a transformers in a junk pile. I smell a new power supply...
