it is a 10k world!!

I know one thing, I dont have to worry about driving under tree limbs near as much with the 10k because the stinger is much more flexible than the monkey. That and I just love the looks of the 10k much more than the monkey.

I hit tree branches now with my Wilson 5000. The MM4 is advertised as 7'9". But when I mounted the stinger it came out to 8'1". And snapping of an antenna is a major concern since I will be hitting even more branches. I have an F250 4x4 and now I'm concerned of the total height about the possibility of hitting overpasses. But the antenna isn't mounted or tuned yet so I don't know what the total height will be.

74 IN I think mine is about 86 inches tall. Im in Indiana also. Not far from Evansville. Were are you located?

I'm from by Lake MI, though I'm hardly home.

I think mine tuned at about 76", pretty tall for truck mounting, but it clears everything on the big highways.

i knocked off the 10k yesterday on a jack n the box drive thru. I had clearance on the shaft but the stinger bent back a bit. No big deal but the corona ball got wedged in just right under the canopy and when I left I thought I was good but the 10k pulled the quad mag right off the cab and ripped the coax in 2. Luckily for me the 10k and quad mag landed in the bed of my truck. The mount and 10k was ok, got bent on the coil a little bit but straightened out fine and looks new still.

For the mean time, I have a spare 27" shaft 10k I have mounted center of my toolbox I am using. I am not sure which one I am gonna use now, the toolbox mount is damn good!!

its still a 10k world!!!

all single coil. the 6" shaft did fine. I had a 22" shaft and bought a trimag so I needed a shorter shaft on the roof. bought a 6" lower shaft and new stinger and converted the 22". tuned down pretty low but the stinger didnt need to be cut, actually I had to pull it up from the bottom of the top shaft to match right.

bringing this back to top. were can u get a 6 inch coil for a single coil 10k?
id like this if it tunes up nice even if it wouldnt have a 2hmz i wouldnt
care.on the roof of my van i dont want 1-1 1/2 foot rod sticking up in the air
on a 7 foot roof

You mean a 6" lower shaft?

Call Clays CB or CB City. Both carry parts...If they don't have a 6" shaft, call Kale.

You'll probably end up needing a New Longer stinger too...

thanks jjd. i didnt see any 6 inch shafts at clays .have to check cb city
not sure how it would tune but id think it would just more whip and less shaft
id think. maybe i should use a 102 to try tune it ...lol

102" whip will work, but you'll have to drill out the hole at the top first.

May try and call Clays or CB City...They don't list all the parts they have on their Web pages...If they don't have one i'm sure thy can order you one...There's not that big a demand for the 6" shaft, which maybe why they don't list one....You can even get a 1" shaft if you want one! Just have to call Kale to order it...
