Just passed my exam this AM, trying to decide on a HT

With this antenna..with my T90a or 91AD (not THF6a)
From street level, i can hit a repeater 65+ miles away
(800 ft up on a tower) Diamond® Antenna ~ RH77CA HT/Scanner Antenna

Although this is a Great antenna...when opened is a bit large
Dimond RH205 Telescopic HT Antenna ( works great though )

The Dimond RHF40 Flexible is a great working antenna as well

An Excellent triband ( i use for my THF6a ) Dimond SRH320A

I have a couple of comets and a mudriol but the above seems to work Best

I'm in the same boat as you. Going to test next week for at least Tech and this radio really has me interested.
How is the antenna working out? What is the geography like in your region? I'm in the PHX area, mostly entirely flat with a few outcroppings of rocky hills called "mountains" at times, but I hear they can absorb the RF pretty well.

I was in Phoenix for Thanksgiving this year. Repeater coverage was pretty good, at least most of the places where I went. APRS coverage there was real good, too. I had no problem tracking myself with the VX-8r and getting into the digipeater(s).
