Just starting

OK I bought the PL-880. Listening to SW is sporadic, sometimes strong. Need an antenna. I can run from the house 60' to a tree, then another 20' to enter the room and another 15' to the radio. Can I use galv, unshielded wire (#9) then switch over to a shielded wire when it enters the house and lastly how should it connect to the radio (specifically)? If I need to run shielded can I run the galv. wire as a guide wire along the shielded? If not what size shielded wire and should it be copper and should it run continuous from tree to radio? THANX
