Larsen NMO 27B Frequency Change

I use the laird cb27 which is essentially the same specs and performance of the larsen nmo27 you'rereferring to. On the center roof of a Durango I owned it worked really well. A different story when I punched a hole to install it on the trunk of the altima. I'm sure I wore everyone on the forum out because I had such a hell of a time getting it to tune up. I ordered a laird spring and new whip in order to get it at least down to 1.5 swr but that's the best it would do and extremely narrow banded.

To sum it up, I wouldn't waste the time or money on a 47" 27 of either flavor that is unless it's center roof top. That's just my experience if it's worth anything.

If you have any nmo magnet mount to go with it I'll buy it from you. Also just know you don't have to change the amount or anything simply the antenna and probably want to get a new one of those every few years anyway.

With the VHF antenna on your nmo mount, you have to remove a center pin changer. If it's a Larsen mount. Then you can just get a VHF quarter wave, cut it, screw it on there and go. Don't buy it from eBay or Amazon because there's five companies out there that'll give you a decent price...good luk
