I owe Linearone and the other Admins a public apology about how and why his avatar got turned off without warning.
When Linearone posted and sent me a PM about why his avatar access had been removed, I honestly did not remember taking such action, or any reason why I would have done so with a long time member without at least a private email exchange.
It didn't hit me until about 5 minutes ago what has happened, so I feel I owe an explanation. Late the evening before Linearone noticed, I was doing some experimenting and testing with the forum software. I was trying to understand how the forum software worked in the event a member used an avatar to Goatse the forum. I picked the last user with a lot of posts that had posted on the first forum (the Announcements and General section) and turned off the avatar function to see if that would affect all previous posts. The intent was to do a quick test that the member wouldn't notice and change it back.
I made the change and never got to check the results as I got interrupted by my family and had to leave the computer. By the time the next day rolled around, I had completely forgotten about it. In fact, when Linearone made the post, I asked all the other admins who had disabled his avatar access. I know this sounds pretty lame, but it's the truth. I realize that by making such statements it either looks like: 1. A cop-out or convenient "alibi" explantion or: 2. I'm a complete idiot.
In response to Linearone's questioning on if it could be a race issue: My woman is a very hot lady of color. Trust me...the song that goes, "Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me" is about her, and all you guys should be jealous of me  This thing has nothing to do with race. I'm asking that everyone just takes it at face value that I made a mistake.
In regards to what pics / avatars we will allow on the forum, the issue is still open. I'm completely willing to hear every members thoughts on the subject before making a final decision. Some general stipulaitons up front:
1. This site will not turn into a porn or adult site.
2. The forum and it's members should do its best to generally not offend others.
3. It should be focused on and promote the radio hobby.
4. It should be fun, not stagnate nor have Nazi rules like other radio sites.
With that said, let's hear everyone's thoughts.
p.s. Linearone...I'll still give you a call in the morning.
