Im going to bump this topic back to the TOP.
I ended up with a hand me down antenna.
Comet Tri-Band CX-333

But it got struck by lighting...
So im back on the market for another V/Uhf antenna again.

The Force 12 Ruby-270s is not longer being produced by new Force 12 owners.

What are your suggestions?

Diamond X700HNA $$$$

I run a Comet CA-2x4SR as a base. Wide banded and cheap. I have it on a Tram 1470 NMO mount with radials.. works great at just 12' up off ground. I can hit repeater in NY on 2m with it about 90 miles North.. (with Kenwood TM-v71a).

I was using a Comet CA-712EFC when I had my GMRS repeater.. worked very well also for 460-470mhz.

For 2 meter use you can't go wrong with a simple ground plane like Beetle suggested in Post #2. I made one from the following video and it worked great. And cost less than a Big Mac and fries.
