LOOKING FOR A GOOD MIC.

I found a Echo master Galaxy with a roger beep NEW on E bay also a Delta M2 amplified power mic NEW. Are those any good mics.? as for the D-104 lollipops I'm afraid of buying used on E bay I cant try before I buy. and new D-104 are around 200 bucks. I'll have to save up for a couple months for that.

Moon , usually 4-5 am EST for me ! Galaxy mic Galaxy radio ? Sounds Good . That Delta is that the fancy looking one w/ the old school head ? Is so I've heard good & bad on it , never heard one , never owned one so I honestly can't say . But they look cool !

If you buy a used mic from an Ebay dealer ( used ) w a good rating ( High # lot's of sales ) I myself never had a problem , you can always send it back & Ebay stands behind you . They have for me on several occasions . As far as a used D104 post an add on here in the sales section , I'm sure someone on here has one they will part with ? Just put WTB . Guys on here are decent . jmo

Moon , like Shade said . 10 Da also know as " Harp Head " (or Bullet Head ) models harmonica players used ( or similar ) but if are talking Am , no need for it . A regular amplified D 104 will suit your needs . My problem was on SSB using the stock head it picked up so much back ground noise if the dog farted in the room , the guy I was chatting with could hear it !:LOL:

The T3 head is used buy many playing the Harmonica is is highly sought after just for that purpose.I have one of those as well & Yes it looks like it is New.

Here's the thing: you can get all kinds of mics out there. There are many brands and features available. But not all - in fact, few - mics have a quality mic element and sound good and clear. That is what you might consider, since you are starting out.

Only a few echo mics available have a decent mic element. The vast majority of them sound like trash on the air.

Thanks Robb, Can you tell me what those good echo mics are? I would like to take a look at them. Right now I'm looking at the D104, but my son really wants a echo mic. He really loves echo's and roger beep's. You see my son is a little M/R. and I raised him in a big truck ,He - loves C/B'S and I'm doing all this for him--and maybe me a little.Thanks.

@moonwalker61 - Well, if its' for the "little one" (Even though he may not be... :) ) just remember the CB stands for Constantly Buying.

He will find several "brand"s of Echo mikes are nothing but repacked goods from another dealer. They are the same board only a different package or label - They will sound pretty much the same.

For better quality, you get into some pretty serious stuff and $$$ to go along with it.

CB though, is not the quality receiver you get in radios - it's for voice and that means keep it simple for him and let him find the handset or base / desk mike he wants. But just remember the innards are going to be pretty much the same.

Some mikes are more "Reverb" (Reverberation - short echo - small room type) while others focus more of the ECHO delay ( Long repeat nearly entire word with ability to change Tempo and cadence ) but can also do the Reverb onto the sample and repeat.

Cobra Echo is one of the cheapest, but the Sadelta Echo Max brands are higher in quality and features but to ignore the more simpler PA system processing side like for Audio Entertainment systems - he could miss out on something in that realm that he could use for his efforts.

Magnum, Palomar, Diesel, Barjan - RF Limited these all are around floating about shops - some are older brand names that merged with others like Barjan to sell out of the business but their stock of, New Old Stock. And even used - types are still around so you're kinda in a latter throes of a market that once thrived with these things - repeating everything everyone else says - not unlike Steve Martins "Repeat After Me" Non-Conformist Oath of "Not To Repeat Things Other People Say"....

...Just another wild and crazy guy...

See the first sentence in this post for a refresher - it's never easy...

To direct you to one type would not be fair - he needs to learn the ropes of the Echo process and how to work it. For if he doesn't - he would not know what really makes those things work and challenge him for his ability to understand, entertain and use them - he'd never be truly satisfied.

You may have a Monster on your hands - you sure you want to do this? ;)

wow!- that's getting pretty deep for me Handy. But I kinda understand what your saying, with that being said, I/we will shop around, and for simplicity, I think he will go for the D-104, or the Delta M2. Only thing with the Delta is the keying process-push button vs the long key handle which he can grasp more easily. Looks likes it's going to be trial and error on this. Thank you very much for that info.

I wanted an SL-41 but missed the boat. Of course it’s not an echo or beepy mic but it sparked my interest.

I’ll agree, there’s a lot out there but not many sound that great, compound that with a clipped up hack job and they really sound crappy.

Another non echo mic to keep an eye out for is the Turner +2, back in the day there were some real nice sounding AM stations running them around here.

For echo I would consider a board installed in the radio, I don't know if the quality is any better/different but I do believe there is an advantage to not being tied to a specific mic.
