looking for an HG 2879 transistor with a gain of 67 or close to it

Do they actually carry HG's though? I never saw anything on the website about HG's, just their own RFParts branded 2879's. That's why I ordered a pair directly from HG Semiconductor. Are the RFParts branded 2879's the same thing as the HG's? Were they able to send you a transistor with close or exactly the same beta match that you were looking for? Were you able to request a certain beta match number?

~Cheers~

yes, i confirmed with Merit that their RFP transistors come from HG.
He said that the beta i was looking for was a very common one, and they had a bunch of 64-66's. (they sent me a 66)
so, i made sure i called instead of just placing the order online, and told the sales manager my name and that i would be placing an order for a 2879 with a specific beta.

then i just placed the order online and all went well.
It's nice that they are a smaller outfit, and you can actually talk tech with the owner of the company.
Merit is a real stand up guy and has given me advice before.
IF you have a tough RF question and can't find the answer online or in a book, try giving him a ring.

i do think that 9 dollars to ship a transistor is a bit high LOL, but it was here in two days.
