As the title implies, I am currently looking to buy a NICE AND MINTY Kenwood TS 50S.

Anyone have one they're willing to part with?

I have a Very Nice and Minty Yaesu FT-710AESS - different brand/model but thought I would mention it.

Thanks, but I am looking for this radio, specifically.
The 710 is very nice, but I'm looking for a mobile rig for the car.

You get what you pay for...Top Tech's selling that...prolly one of the last service centers that will work on them or guarantee they work!!...they purchased a load of pcs/parts for those years ago (I think)... look around... parts for those rigs are getting hard to find, again IMHO...Plus it does NOT have 6m :ROFLMAO: ...
GL Enjoy what you purchase
All the Best

The TS50 is one of my all-time favorite HF transceivers, right up there with the TS440. Here's hoping yours turns out okay.

I think my very-favorite feature is the way it tells you the memory backup cell has run down. Starts sending "H-E-L-P" in Morse code with the sidetone beep.

Somebody at Kenwood had a sense of humor.

Yes, I have owned several of these over the years, and it's the radio I traded for, when I bought a brand new Cobra 2000 in 1990, and decided that it was overrated, and never really cared for the looks of it. anyway.

I always thought it looked more like a sofa, than a radio.

Never had an issue with any of them, until I loaned it out to a "friend", who hooked it up backwards, and blew the VPD.
I still have it to this day.

One day soon, I'll replace the VPD and use it for a backup rig.

I imagine it will need to be recapped and aligned before being put back in service.

It's been sitting unused for at least 15 years.

Haunt QRZ.com's for-sale forum, or the one on QTH (https://swap.qth.com/). You'll have to check QRZ frequently, because equipment goes fast ... really fast. I got mine from one of the two, pre-COVID, but don't remember which one exactly. It came with the box, manual, original mic, and had the E-Caps replaced, glue removed, and tuned for under $500. Great rig, and good luck to you in finding one!
