Looking to Buy a NICE AND MINTY Kenwood TS 50S

I got a TS-50 when they first came out for mobile use. There isn't an easier rig to use when mobile! All the buttons in the different places are easy to remember what they are so you don't have to look at them to know what you are doing. If it had a separate control head I would still have it!

Having owned several myself over the years, I can honestly say it's definitely the best HF mobile ever produced. I get nothing but compliments on the audio quality, even though it's dated by today's standards.

Got plenty of spare parts to keep it going well beyond my lifetime, too.

The 2SC2879 is rated for 120 Watts PEP output. A radio that holds each one down to 50 Watts apiece should last longer than the owner. Or at least the final stage will. Got one of these with bad electrolytics. Haven't worked up the gumption to recap it.

Back early Spring of this year, I was having QSO's on 11 meter USB from a station on the Canary Islands, and his TS-50 sounded good...very punchy too.
