I think education about the modes of transmission would help. That's the reason I keep pushing everybody to getting a ham ticket. Learn more and get more privileges.Or go Freebanding.
QSY is the Norm there. You call on 27.555 USB, make a contact, and jump to another freq if the other operator is so inclined.
Another thing about SSB on the FCC 40....
Why does it seem that 99% of the operators do not know that they can use the other side of the carrier? I.E. USB
Most radio ops think their radios only have 2 modes... AM and LSB... USB is a deserted wasteland...
Flip the switch and it is quiet... quite amazing...
