M104 and A99

If I put an A99 above an Maco M104 would I loss an db, signal, or have any issues with either antenna?
How far apart should the 2 be from each other for best performance?
I would be running a switch box to use one or the other.

104 horizontal and mount the a99 right above it, put an rf choke aka ugly coil at feed point of the a99, the m104 will act as a ground plane per say for the a99 and will work well no loss

How close or far apart?
How many turns?
What it the purpose of the choke?

All sort of information online, I think for 27mhz specifically it is 5 1/4 turns on 4" inside diameter.

There is a chart some where on this forum that gives exactly how many turns to get the best choke for the target frequency.

Do not worry about the arm chair engineers that will tell you only this way works or only that way works.

Google is your friend and YES the RF choke does work and it helps prevent rfi and cmc especially on 1/2 wl end fed antennas.

Most important is you get your antennas installed start making contacts and have fun.
