That's what I did. You could also throw a rope over a tree branch and haul one end on the boom up. Or lean it against a sawhorse or fence posts. It's not rocket science how to point an antenna straight up.

I've hung them like that.

I tuned my six element 6m yagi and several 2m yagis and a 12/17m dual band yagi that way and they all worked out quite close. Definitely better that mounting it horizontal only 6-10 feet off the ground.
