MACO VQ3

Of course. But I fear 1: it will be some months till actually in hand.
2: Still have to meet a member off here to buy his push up pole.
3: I will only be able to give subjective data vs my Imax2000 as I have nothing to compare it against in its class.
So I fear no matter how much I like or hate it, I wont exactly have empirical data to support my position...

We'll be very patiently waiting...

Hard to imagine it not being a hell of a lot better than any vertical. That's all the data you really need!

Though he does have a point... Its difficult to see any way possible for it not to outperform a 5/8ths fiberglass stick. Maybe if I mounted it 90deg wrong

Im quite interested as well. Although for well over 100 dollar premium on a V Quad I'm not certain that extra element is going to give me over 100 bucks worth of improvement over the V Quad. Happily I will never be able to answer that with certainty. 11 db vs 14.5db or so which is their literature so whether that's actually dBi as discussed earlier Idk I am just quoting factory stats.
Also found this... Regarding db and power multiplication probably where the manufacturer got the X 28 etc power multiplication idea.

Not much info on the net on the joe gunn variant skip jack

I did read SOMEWHERE that his angle of radiation was terrible on those .... But begs the question is his adaptation to blame or are all V Quad style going to suffer this...

Zote soap to catch’em BIG catfish. (My story and I’m sticking’ to it).

I look forward — in all seriousness — to how things go.
The design has had my interest awhile.
I caught fish on Zote soap last summer, and the last time I was at the lake last month. the combination of Zote soap and chunk bait, liver and skipjack flavor gave surprisingly consistent results, noting really big but a lot of good eating size. The Zote soap or the chunk baits alone didn't seem to do as well as the combination of the two. Still wouldn't call it a power bait, but I will use this combination again.
