Happy Holidays Gentlemen!
My Question is what wave length is the K40,Wilson1000,Wilson 5000 and other
Magmount mobile antennas and does it matter?

Regards,
Strikesmith

All mobile antennas ( magmount and permanent mount ) are 1/4 wavelength. The permanent mount tend to work more efficiently the ground plane is directly in contact with the car’s body. On magnetic mount that ground plane is not.

No they're not. If they were they'd not require matching sections. The coils don't add length, they transform the feedpoint impedance to 50 Ohms that the radio wants to see.

Magmounts use capacitive coupling to connect to the car body for a RF ground. The car body is still a ground plane for a magmount antenna. You can see proof of this if you move the antenna to one corner of the vehicle. You'll find it's directional favouring the opposite corner of the vehicle.

What I wanted to say is that all mobile cb antennas are 1/4 wave length. If you say: “ they are not “ , Can you explain?
