Magnum s6175 radio

All "S" series radios are discontinued. The 3,6 and 989's had 4 mosfets in the back. I can't remember the configuration 1x1x2??? Idk but I know they blew up a lot. I believe at one time they came out with a single erf7530 driven by one 2030 MOSFET. That was a good configuration. Never saw one come in for repair but I'm not sure there were a lot of them out there.

Besides the occasional 3-350 or s6 that cbradio distributing got in lately, the only magnums still in production are the raptor 2 (rfx75 on back), raptor 3 (rfx150 on back), 257HP (rfx75 on back) and I think the omega force s45 is still going to be in production with the rfx75 on the back.

I can't keep up. Somebody call Sam and just ask him to level with u. I mean, are you going to keep fooling around or do you have a plan? I loved the s9 and the 257 for SSB. .

Now I'm stuck finding my favorite radio and installing an rfx175 or 350 on the back for 300+ watts. $209 installed ain't to bad. I just have to buy something other than magnum stuff. I don't want to. They just don't have anything.

I hear ya, I do like my magnum 257hp's. I have 2. But as they say, can never have too many radios!! I enjoy the hobby and like to check out different stuff. It just seems that the optima mk3 is the best bang for the buck going around right now from all the research I have done.

If I were going to buy a radio for predominately AM CB with the occasional SSB, it would probably be the galaxy dx94hp. Aligned with both clarifier open, it performs very well on SSB. If I wanted 10 meters as well, I would change out the x3 crystal to give me those frequencies. Screamer bin am. Strong echo for cb stations. 100 watts, SSB, freq display. Or maybe the 2970n2.

If I'm talking a lot of SSB, optima or the 2979n2 if I needed power.

The rfx 150 I have heard is a bit easier to install than the rfx 75, either way don't forget to add a fan to the rfx75 unit as they do get hot!! Should be a good radio if done correctly. But IMO the rfx 150 would have been a better option unless funds were tight, and that I understand. Just been told that the 150 unit is Easier to install and it's almost twice if not twice the power. Anyway good luck and hope you get the rfx75 attached and Working. God bless.

What's to keep up, he know that as long as he keeps dangling shinny objects in front of people he will sell his trinkets, this applies to most of the mfg's. The 11 meter market has no substants any more. This is a shame because there are people willing to buy quality stuff and are willing to spend big $$$$ for it.
