maxlog m-8900

I heard Simon is supposed to get a demo rig as soon as it's released. Myself, I will wait to see what he says. The M-8800 is a turd, so whatever revision this is, IDk.

I'm patiently waiting for the AT-6666 first.

According to last news over the weekend the radio is still not available and as you see from this one it is a mock up, so will come as and when I guess but I think is nothing so new, same old in a new case

Yes I know! I actually like the m-8800 . Great to catch you on air the other day Dave( using my m-8800 V3)! The 8900 looks good, but the knobs look to small for my pork sausages. I'm interested in seeing if they fixed anything or is it the same old parcel with a new bow.Tried a v5 at-5555 side by side with the maxlog the other day the freq stabilty is good on the 5555 but the maxlog is far better, wonder what they are doing different.

How different are the two motherboards to look at? Maxlog certainly easier to use than the anytones and I prefer the receive too. But very sharp TX audio with standard mic. (Ver 6)
Great for DX but the locals complain! Any dynamic mic works well but if you have a 6 pin magnum 257/s-45 electret mic it WORKS GREAT!!!!
Don't ask me where the mic gets its power from and the up/downs won't work but awesome audio!!!!!

Oh wow as I am sure Dave already knows. So much information about this radio it can sink a ship

Size:180 x 175 x 53 so a small one

Mike connection at the back, 6 pin comes on a 50cm cable and also accepts RJ45

25watts PEP as a small radio

NEW SOFTWARE for Programming with lots of nice touches

Coverage 24500-30110 or 28000-29999 or 24500-24995
New idea with the bands, comes as 1, 2, 3, 4
Software covers 1920 channels for programming

I have the new software for the 8800 which now has multi colour display, mike gain in the menu, 24500 and upwards coverage

DHL leaves Xiamen Monday with some samples and end of week speak again to Maxlog.

And coming up in a few months is V7 with even more ideas crammed into it...

Dave? Did you use it to call 227AT? With a roger bleep? If yes was sounding HF Here

M8900

We are supposed to Have samples on the way but waiting for them to upgrade the microphone before shipping.
Simon re 227 I think I was on the huracan MK1 !! Changed the stock mic to a heil CM-4 and keep the mic gain down around 12 oclock and she is sounds wonderful.
Used the M8800 in 238 division and it went well. The new M8800 should be quite reasonable..I like the way they work.. and it will be good to try the 8900 but like most new radios it may have some surprises! (Both good and bad!)

Is the rear mic connection the only spot?

I believe there is the 1 on the back with the 50cm cable to a 6 pin

And I think ( don't quote me ) there is an RJ45 Socket but not sure where

New software is on my youtube and the radio leaves tomorrow or Tuesday via DHL

it's been almost a week did anybody get one yet?? Surprised to see the pic of the 8900. Looks cool

I was told mine was sent last week Monday by DHL but checked and nothing was sent. I asked at Maxlog and not any reply at all. I checked with DHL and they confirmed nothing was sent so back to zero at the moment. Not sure how serious they are there at Maxlog? Seems to promise rather a lot and the delivery of that promise seems not so much, sorry.

That's a shame, I know Dave likes the 8800 MaxLog I wasn't too impressed with it compaired to the Anytone 5555 I have. Hope the 8900 works good. I listened to a guy on a CRE 8900 a lot yesterday afternoon. Audio had too much treble for my liking hope the MaxLog has a bit more base in the audio. Guess time will tell.
