MFJ Antenna


No but it is good for the VHF and UHF bands. A simple wire will get you started monitoring the HF bands. Just make it as long as you can and the higher the better but even 10 feet high will get you lots of signals to listen too.
 
All I ever ran for listening was literally a piece of wire strung up between two convenient end points and usually one end of the wire came directly into the shack and into the antenna jack. Heard stations all over the world on it . The best antenna I ever had however was 600 feet long and about 15 feet high. I could hear an ant fart in Budapest. :LOL:
 
Ok guys will the MFJ 1868 discone antenna work just to monitor all of the ham bands??
Thats a 25-1300 mhz antenna. Your looking for a 1.5-50 mhz antenna. just string out a peace of wire that is a few hundred feet long or if your are going to get your ticket how about a:
