I have a problem radio. The symptoms are when cold, it takes 2-3 minutes for the radio to stabilize on freq counter. It also doesn't want to stay on, acts like it had interupted power supply. Sometimes the meter won't move all the way over, on TX. Only happens in the truck, not on the bench. I'm sure it is the radio, as it does it in more than 1 vehicle.
I've used freeze spray to no availe, couldn't get it to do it on the bench. I've resoldered practically the entire board. I'm rapidly losing my hair over this 1. Any ideas?

Should also mention that I've checked for cracked traces and replaced the plugin, checked the voltages and continuity until I'm having nightmares. Is there a part that I'm not seeing that is common to all the syptoms? Maybe having a temperature tolerance problem?

Temperature Extremes

Galaxy Radios (and like chassis such as the Mirage) are someone infamous for freq. drift or instability at colder temps.

Wire a small wattage 12v light bulb (to generate heat) somewhere in an open part of the radio.

Then, wire the radio to an always on 12v power source (not ignition switched) and then leave the radio on all the time. Never turn it off and it will stay "warmed up" and ready all the time...

Unconventional solution but I bet it will work, as I've seen it work before.
