Ray From Galaxy anounced the they have an even bigger or you might say Monster radio coming up. Bigger than the 98V.

I have a Galaxy 2527. Bill Good says it was the best of the imports. Maybe that was for its time. I've been told the 2995DX is a better radio, current technology.....I don't know. What I do know is that the VFO on the 2527 is irritating.

I still believe there is a market for a quality base station.

I HAVE HAD MY 2527 SINCE LATE 90'S AND TROUBLE FREE OPERATION WITH IT TO BOOT ;) Ive had them all and this by far is the best of them all even the turbo saturn's. The DX2527 is no HF Rig but as far as performance and reliability for what it is it cant be beat.

My Galaxy DX2517 is a great base radio. Looks nice, sounds great in all modes, drives a little amp real nice, has sensitive RX, great sounding audio from the built in speaker. No drift, No warble, none of the cold solder joint problems. The US Postal Service even soaked it, when it dried out, it still worked flawlessly!

is your rotary switch skipping?

I "understand" why RCI and similar radios call the 10 meter radios amateur radios, we all know why they do this.

Look at your typical 2995DX or 2527 chassis. The radio is so big you can put a sail boat inside them :p ,

RCI does make a 6 meter rig and other radios for business bands and marine bands. They have the technology to actually take one of those big chassis and make a REAL ham radio, yeah 160m to 70cm. I actually think they would sell!

Imagine the 2995DX actually called the RCI-16070DX, all bands all modes and of course be capable of the famous "MARS/CAP" mod 8) 8)

Compete with everyone else and have output of 200 watts!

Built in power supply!

HECK go even one further and use the same chassis and build a 160-6 meter 1000 watt linear. The chassis would match the radio and it has a rack mount option!

Cmon RCI kick it up a notch or two.

Multiple antenna connections in the back for different bands

I WOULD BUY ONE!

Skipping would be an understatement! That thing is all over the place! I have to use the up/down buttons to navigate around. I'm told this is typical for all the 2950/2970/etc type radios. Is there a fix?
