Monster Galaxy!!!

FL native,
what does your vasectomy have to do with Galaxy radios? LOL
JUST KIDDIN'!!!
i couldnt help myself.

i just wish SOMEONE would make a base station that doesnt use the "rack mount" case.
to me those cases have NO personality.

anyone remember the uniden madison? what a beautiful radio!
if Galaxy would make one of those, in blue, with a freq. counter instead of a clock; i would buy one, and i bet they would sell like hotcakes.
just stick a MOSFET DX959 board in it, and voila!
oh well, a guy can dream cant he?

is your rotary switch skipping?
Skipping would be an understatement! That thing is all over the place! I have to use the up/down buttons to navigate around. I'm told this is typical for all the 2950/2970/etc type radios. Is there a fix?

Yes, replacing the channel selector rotary switch with the new version should do the trick. I'd be happy to send you a free replacement one. Just pm me your full name and shipping address so I can box one up for you.

I have a Galaxy 2527. Bill Good says it was the best of the imports. Maybe that was for its time. I've been told the 2995DX is a better radio, current technology.....I don't know. What I do know is that the VFO on the 2527 is irritating.

I still believe there is a market for a quality base station.

why is it irritating???

My Galaxy DX2517 is a great base radio. Looks nice, sounds great in all modes, drives a little amp real nice, has sensitive RX, great sounding audio from the built in speaker. No drift, No warble, none of the cold solder joint problems. The US Postal Service even soaked it, when it dried out, it still worked flawlessly!

maybe it needed a good soaking for its reliability maybe we all should give our equipment a good thorough soaking now and again?? hahah 202 on the side and crazy.

I HAVE HAD MY 2527 SINCE LATE 90'S AND TROUBLE FREE OPERATION WITH IT TO BOOT ;) Ive had them all and this by far is the best of them all even the turbo saturn's. The DX2527 is no HF Rig but as far as performance and reliability for what it is it cant be beat.

hey tony V whats up i got a question for ya. When Tuned PROPERLY. about how much power can you expect out of those??? And are they worth all the money they turbo's are going for on ebay? And are they kinda rare or something, because on ebay you see alot of Saturns. but hardly ever a saturn tubro. theres a turbo on ebay going for... Oh look haha some one bought it DARN. theres another one on there now. it says saturn. but the Turbo part was clearly scratched off and you can just make out the rbo part.
73's to my good friend tonyV up around Wisconsin 202 ON THE SIDE
