It was $149 shipped. I think the quality is worth what I paid. The various nuts and bolts was noticeably junky. Replacement parts are cheap. Changing the top end, clutch pads, chain and sprockets won't break the bank.
There are tons of aftermarket parts that are of higher quality and performance. I really like it and is fun to ride. All the local kids think it's cool. I was careful with it during the break in period. Ran a 16:1 mix for 2 tanks then 32:1 on out.
The weakest part of this kit is the chain tensioner. There are several good aftermarket ones, but I just modified mine to keep it from loosening and wiping out spokes.
I'm surprised how well it tackled a couple big hills. Whenever I see our local deputy I kill the engine and start peddling.
Any moped/scooter riders here....what kind do you have...and what kind do you reccomend as far as best made ?
I have been thinking about getting a scooter.....a 50cc to get around town n and joyride......the good gas mpg and no insurance and no plate just a 3 yr sticker sounds good to me.
I bet 35 40 feels like your really moving on a bicycle?
The thing that bothers me about this is the "No insurance required" part.
If someone with no health insurance gets into an at fault accident and gets splattered on the road.........the taxpayers will pick up the tab.
Especially when you blow a tire and wipe out.
The fastest I ever went on a bicycle was 63 MPh going down a long steep grade on my 10 speed. It was verified by my buddy traveling alongside in a car. Man, the stupid things we did as teenagers. It's a wonder we ever made it too adulthood.
I had to test it, but I usually just let the engine idle which makes it go around 5 MPH or so. Lost 10 lbs. of skin in my youth, don't want to lose anymore.
It's missing the machine gun mount and grenade launcher.
I would love to put one of those on my mountain bike. But my lower tube of the frame is shaped differently. Not round at all.
