Do the newer exports that are made with mosfets do more power
after they are tuned?
(Compared to the older ones)

What kind of power? (output)

The connex 3300HP Mosefet version definitely does more when tuned. I've been seeing around 55-60 PEP from them where they'd do about 45 before. Other exports will probably show similar shifts as well. By the way, factory-installed MOSFETS seem to be mostly IRF520's, rather that the ERF2030's that are sold and used in most MOSFET mods. Makes you wonder....

I just talked to a local shop owner. He said the new version Magnum S9 has mosfets and does right at 55-60 watts on their Blackcat meter. This is not the S-980 version either.

The same shop used to do a 1969 mod to Cobra & Unidens. For several months they have I guess been doing a mosfet mod. They are in the 35-40 watt range. I think that mod is over on cbtricks.com

I tried the mod from CBTricks for the 2030's and did not see anything amazing.

Is there more to it than what's on there?

I'd like to do it right.
