Don't know whether to be glad or sad.
I am selling my 11 year old Ameritron AL-1500 amplifier. It does have the original Eimac 3CX1500A7, 8877 tube. The tube is still very strong on every band. Full legal output plus, with 35-ish watts input.
Boy, this is one nice rugged amplifier. Never has had a hiccup.
Another amateur has offered same price I paid for it in 2018 from a SK ....... $3500 plus ......
But I only turn it on about every other week nowadays and use it for an evening on 40 meters........
I now have 3 solid state LDMOS amplifiers that I regularly use on 6m thru 160m ......
No tune, instant on, fail safe circuitry ......
Palstar LA-1K ...... KM3KM Mercury IIIs ...... KM3KM Mercury LUX ....... The Lux max output is almost on par with the AL-1500.......
