My 1st 3way!!!

Got your attention didn't it. Not what y'all are thinkin' you perv's!

1'st three way communication with a couple of stations from the UK. They were talking about how everybody in the states must be running beam antennas. I butted in after a while and one put me in touch with another so I figured, hey, time to pick some brains. They gave me off air contact info to set up a time to call them once the moxon is up. I told them I was running a 1/4 wave ground plane barefoot and they couldn't believe it. They were running verticals as well but pushin' 40-60 watts I think. Really strange day here. Texas was stompin' their way in here into the ditch right away this a.m. Usually I don't hear anything west of AL until early afternoon. The best conditions were mid to late this afternoon for Europe. Completely ass backwards from the way it usually is. Only been at this a couple of weeks but today was really strange. The same 15000 station pile ups all morning long though. Cracks me up.

Good for you I got nothing today. Now I know what people go through making mobile contacts . this stinks because the base is down I tried putting my 140 gtl in the truck , nothing in two days . In the last few months I have made contacts daily . two things on list , fix atron ASAP an by an amp for the truck in the next few days . I'm loosing my voice trying to make contacts mobile . But I will cure that shortly > Haaa !!!

Thanks Hobie , Trying to get my friend with a bucket truck that goes up 65' the easy option or my other friend might help me this weekend . I'm looking at amps the problem is they get bid up so high on ebay I pass on them . If you guys get a chance go to you tube an search 1883gotdown the guy rebuilds amps an seems that he knows his stuff probably where my mobile amp is coming from . Anybody ever hear of his work ? I won't be on as much for a while my month old tablet crapped out on me yesterday an when I come on the forum I have to use the PC which for me is a pain because I'm not usually on it . I guess I got kind of spoiled ! Haaa !! But I will check in daily just not as often . My wife ordered me a new tablet last night but now I have to send the old one back , me an electronic's are not having a good week .If I can't get an amp from 1883 might go with a small kl-60 or up to kl -203 but I heard the 203 has a lot of issue's .:bdh:

What kind of issues??? I've only heard good things about it. Everyone keeps suggesting it to me for ssb for my galaxy 959 on here, and other things i've read online. I was to the point where i was ready to order one from Amazon.

Nothing serious believe it or not a tree hit 2 yrs ago an I thought it was bent Wrong ! It wasn't tight enough an it unscrewed itself ! Stuff like that only happens to me , I couldn't believe it the match was almost flat but the wind the other night finished it off I looked out an the top section was on the ground .

Sorry I thought you meant my antenna , I read the Kl 203 has a lot more RF bleed over but running an amp your going to get that anyway . Believe me still thinking about that one but I don't think I need one that big but if the price is right I'd buy one . I just didn't want to spend that much because I don't spend a lot of time mobile so I might jus by a Kl 60 . Guess I better pay attention to the thread !! lol

I didn't realize you need a bucket truck! I don't even do 30' ladders so if that is the case you're on your own anyways.

Well hopefully I will be back on the air this weekend . The bucket truck is suppose to come today , until I get an amp I'm done with mobile Dxing . I'm lucky I still have a voice just keeping my fingers crossed my friend shows up ! That's what I get for putting my antenna so high !
