My "AR-99" Ringo

Figure the low take off from that 11m Ringo would be a good addition to my growing Antenna Farm. Read that the FM is available with that 16 deg. take off. Starting to worry about lighting strikes though. Home built switch box from scrap for two antenna. Looks like I'll need another in the future.

Same logic, but without the Conc. Red. (sorry I'm a Pipefitter, hard for me to call it a reducer or bushing). The 1/2" PVC will be off set just like that, although they will be short PUP's of 1/2" PVC with couplings close to the beam. Screws to lock continuance from radius 1/2" PVC. I like that center bolt, darn it. Another change in Scope.

cool idea Homer!

i was reading through the thread and i thought i'd suggest something i've used before when needing to 'bush out' something for a tighter telescoping fit, as long as conductivity isn't needed.

i like to use the heat shrink tubing that has the adhesive on the inside.
you can get it in different thicknesses, and once you heat it, it ain't goin' nowhere!

you can buy it in short lengths on ebay or pretty much any electrical supply house.

Have some of that. Been pondering using it. Harbor Freight has some cheap o stuff, but not all that thk. May try sliding some over a PEX bushing I cut to fit the fiberglass rod, might work.

Nope stuff I have is thin, doesn't make up the diff. Won't allow to double up either. Barely will slide onto the PEX bushing. But......I may find some in town. If I'm lucky. All we have is an ACE and .....wait.... there is an old Hardware Store. Old School with bins of stuff. The search continues.

Home Depot may have some short peices of thick shrink.

Ther is one up in Victoria, along with a Lowes, but that is 50 miles one way. Traffic ain't bad till you get there, but that intersection is where everyone chooses to play crash'em up @. Can get to Home Depot steppin off on feeder rd. but "every time", I mean "EVERY time" I go there they never have what I came for, then back through the traffic with the suicide drivers to Lowes. I like HD, but Lowes beats them in prices and selection for some reason. Homer, maybe since you are a HD "Homer", friend of mine was one in Mobile, you could use your Homer powers, to straighten the Victoria, TX. HD out fer me? LOL.

Homer, been reviewing your pics...Now the engineering dept. is considering another redline drawing for the spider hub. They have processed a RFI (Request for Information) and are awaiting an EWO (Extra Work Order) from Operations before continuing.:LOL: They feel the larger hub with the swage may allow more surface area and strength.

I'm trying a non-metallic approach. Either by concentrically doubling the PVC for boom or by wood doweling the center PVC section of boom. This is a challenge. My arms will flex some, I had considered some 1/2" galv. scrw. pipe I had laying around for the arms. That got thrown out with weight. Only metal will be tower/ mast, coupling plate (alum.) from mast to boom with U-Bolts, and the small sht. mtl. scrws. used to lock the components together like your photos of spider hub. Oh, and the SS wire for driver and reflector.
