Looking on Craigslist to see what's up for grabs in CB and ham gear I came across an ad for a Northpoint CBS-1000 and a 24ft CB antenna. for $50 and it is amazingly only a mile away from me! it seems like everything I might be interested in on Craigslist is 100 miles away out in the boonies making it just not worth it to go get...Maybe that is a good thing!!
So I leave an email for the seller really expecting to never hear from him which is often the case it seems. Well, he called me a little later so I headed over there. I really was mostly interested in the antenna but for $50 you can't go too wrong. The radio works fine other than a couple burned out bulbs for the meters, no sweat with that!
The antenna is a Solarcon 5/8 wavelength antenna. It look like it had little time up in the air. The stickers are still on it and all the hardware is still shiny. A good deal for me as I don't have a regular CB vertical up and was watching for one second hand locally.
