my needle is stuck in the cobra

Dish soap

I read in another forum try putting dish detergent on the outside for a few minutes then wipe off.
It could just be static making it stick
Good luck

I think the tip about using mineral spirits is brilliant - thank you. Perhaps not for a radio where a replacement meter is readily available (and cheap), but for older/vintage radios where a replacement meter is not available I can see where using this method would be quite beneficial. (y)
Exactly right, it's useful for repair of meters that can be disasembled or a part that is easily removed and as I state earlier the meter in question would be as cheap to purchase and replace as new would be almost as much as the price of a quart of mineral spirits.

Thats what Im saying get a new meter drop it in and waaahh laahh its all good in the hood again. No messing around wasting time and palying with mineral spirits. Afew screws 4 touches with a solderer 2 to diconnect the old one and 2 to reconnect the new one and screw the covers back on and your done 20 - 30 minutes tops (y)
