Mobile My new car has defeated me.

last resort is using a heavy duty lip mount on the hatch or door. That depends on which antenna you are placing. I know they say that the Tarhill II can be mounted this way with no issues...

I've a Diamond K400 I used on my last car with a Tarheel II with a 6ft whip on, as you can see, no issues with that...

I recently had to have the hatchback glass replaced on the Focus after it broke. To do that they had to remove all the trim from around the glass on the sides and the top.

There's not a single straight edge anywhere on that tailgate. Nowhere it is possible to use my Diamond K400. Also interesting to note was that the car uses the rear screen demister as both an analogue FM and DAB antenna and the pre-amps for both of those were attached to the tailgate.

So hole drilled in the roof it most definitely is but that was always the plan if I could anyway. I've bought some trim clips so once I can get up the nerve to do it I'll just be a bit more forceful when trying to remove the sill trim covers. I saw how much force the guy fitting the glass had to do to remove the trim on the inside of the hatchback and it was much more than I expected so I guess me not being brave enough is the issue.

Not the same car but I found removing the seats and carpet much easier than trying to remove the headliner. I can have the carpet out of my hhr in about 2 hours which is where most of my wire harnesses run.
