A little hard to tell, but he's got a Turner +2 head and element mounted on a flexible boom!

what is on the top shelf to the right of the lantern. is it an old am/fm radio or maybe an old sw radio?
I saw that free-floating head and wondered what it was to the left of the rigs. That's pretty neat !
on the top shelf a Zenith Transoceanic SW radio, tube job, very hot , works good !

a modified tunrer plus 2 on a boom . so i can talk hands free
built a foot switch for it
and a yaesuftdx570 , receives only , im waiting for a pair of 6kd6's
to fall in my lap

A Zenith "Transoceanic" Short wave radio
this one is approximately 60 yrs old , and works good !!!!!
they were the first generation of battery powered short wave radios
very popular during ww2 and the later forties and fiftys
I found this one shivering and dirty in a corner of an abandoned garage
brought her home , cleaned her up , restrung the tuning dial
and brought her up slowly on a variac ,
Imagine my delight when it came to life and started receiving !!!!!
Ive since had to replace one tube , but was an easy find
and cheap ,
