They are hard to control when they go Kangaroo. I had low profile tires on my car.Tall ,I had that in my small block Chevy Super Pro Dragster ( Best et 8.20 ) a piece of flat stock . But no worries there it didn't have brake lights , just a Chute I only used once when I was headed to the sand trap & net because of Bad rear wheel hop .

Tall , never had a set of 50's but ran L-60 Posi Traction tires on my 69' L-88 Chevelle SS street car . I just liked the design , you could hardly see the tread it looked almost like a slick . You probably can't buy them any longer . Now I'm curious I have to Google it to find out .
I watched street outlaws and to see those guys go Kangaroo and most of them just freeze up and crash. Get off the brakes and pop the chute if you need to.
Just getting off the gas before it gets unstable will save your bacon, and your car.
I watched one guy crash after he went Roo hopping and the view from the side shows the back wheels were still locked up.
I watch that show on occasion , almost feel bad . Discovery channel ( I think ) is making big $'s off them & one of those idiots is going to get killed because of it ! I worked & pitted for Pro Mods . No Prep = Certain Disaster !jmo
Stage racing is for millennials enjoyment only. The original points system rewarded consistency. Nascar drivers are a privileged bunch who only get in due to nepotism. Jimmy Johnson got the best car week after week.....if another driver were in that car, he would have won 7 championships too.
Nascar has had 30 years to make racing at Talladega and Daytona better, and they failed.
Racing at short tracks is the best, and they need to dump the 1.5 milers and add more short tracks and a couple of dirt tracks.
The NHRA lost me with fuel cars only running 1/8 miles. Stock, super stock, and pro stock divisions rule.
Watched about half of the truck "race" last night. Really, they ought to award bonus points for any driver that completes the race without sheet metal damage.

I think only 7 or 8 "trucks" were running at the end. That kind of carnage happens daily on Florida's roads.
phsyco , I agree 1/8 mile tracks are a joke & shouldn't be sanction by NHRA , I didn't like it when they shorten the track for all the fuel cars ! What difference did it make ? They still push the envelope & end up in the sand trap anyway ? Your right Stock , S/S are my favorites also Pro Stock is Ok but I miss the days when they left standing on the rear wheels ie '' Grumpy Jenkins " but those days are gone & when your in the air your Et suffers . But it sure does look Sweet !
