NET NEUTRALITY;MORE OF OUR FREEDOMS TAKEN AWAY OR NOT?

If you truly like (or understand) the Internet, then you'd absolutely will want to ride the Net Neutrality bus.

Glenn Beck is an absolute moron. He's right up there with Alex Jones in the credibility department.

Yes,I've read up on it but I still think it gives our socialist government officials cart Blanche to turn the thumb screws on the American people's freedoms.

Opponents of Net Neutrality are your typical ultra conservatives that want to ensure that any and all opportunities are available to make money.

Spin the dial and listen to someone other that the likes of Beck.

"Published April 06, 2010" << Four years later, and I'm still not seeing any of these.

Disclaimer: I'm a right-winger... However, Glenn Beck and Alex Jones exist in a nutter, conspiracy-laden place that my political meter just can't go

And how is this "Amateur Radio Related?"

Either that or CB Discussion. Administrators, please move this thread where it ought to be.
I wouldn't write off Mr. Beck so soon. Obama and several key officials are practicing socialism,Marxism, however you call it nowadays. O and his ilk have been ramming stuff down the American people's throats against their wills, pulling off midnight sessions, pulling distraction tactics anyway they can to get certain laws out in place to promote their agenda. Woodrow Wilson and his bunch of fine furry socialist friends tried to 100 years ago and were mostly stopped. The current administration has the advantage of misinformation and watered down values from our founding father's original interpretation of the constitution to their benefit in order to carry out their evil deeds.

How about in the General Discussions section under Announcements and Open Forum? It's for non-radio related stuff or anything basically.

Do'ah! Thanks.
Now I know who's side the FFC is on and it ain't good. It looks to me like the FFC has been gaining clout in flexing their muscles in other parts of the spectrum. What is good about the FCC is that they do need to enforce spectrum laws but stay neutral when it comes to political agendas.

Agreed... I discovered Beck just about the time that O'care turned my family's life upside down a few years ago. Some of his writings seriously hit home, so I drifted over to his site "the Blaze" for a while. It was so far over the top that I realized that I'm not as "far right" as I thought I was. In fact, it made me realize that my views are more libertarian than far right.

Myself as well as a couple of others on this site volunteer (or used to volunteer) hundreds of hours a year with a federal agency. We've seen EXACTLY what Lil'Yeshua just referenced as far as "control" and even shaping the public's thoughts due to a political agenda. What we went through during the gubment shut down was a serious eye opener that made me take a few steps back, and I now see politics influencing a huge part of the entire decision making process with this agency. I'm seeing budgets get hacked to unworkable levels for say a department of ten federal employees. This department of ten functioned just fine for DECADES, but now has to literally dig recycling out of trash cans in order to buy batteries for their flashlights because they don't have the budget to buy them with the money that congress provides. Meanwhile the feds are queuing up another agency to step in and "save the day" with a HUNDRED new employees, rather than simply fund the ten that are perfectly capable of doing the job when properly funded.

It's all in the spirit of "Job creation" and a swelling federal government. Let something go to hell long enough to disgust the public, and they'll support the funding of a hundred new employees, further regulation, etc... It's happening right before my eyes.

It's not that I'm opposed to "Net Neutrality", but what I AM opposed to is the Feds sticking their hands in to something that they're not already in. Everything they do seems to be politically driven these days and I don't see the internet being any acceptation to this. How many "jobs" do you suppose THIS will create?

And Lil'Yeshua, thanks for Trey... ;)

Update: According to FCC spokesman Neil Grace, the vote will proceed as scheduled. "Chairman Wheeler fully supports a robust public debate on how best to protect the Open Internet, which is why he intends to put forward his proposals for public comment next week. Moving forward will allow the American people to review and comment on the proposed plan without delay, and bring us one step closer to putting rules on the books to protect consumers and entrepreneurs online."

FCC's new net neutrality rules opposed by 100+ internet companies (update: vote still on schedule)

read what it REALLY says,... not what it seems to say.

what it really says is that the decision has already been made as to how to "protect the internet".

Beck's one of those people who can see what's going on and put the pieces together to warn others of something seriously going wrong and may seem to go overboard but if you had a friend in car accident that was all in a haze, you'd go through drastic measures to save them.
Heck,Beck knew of the stock market crash ahead of time and managed to pull his money out of the stock market just in time. The same goes for another person I know who did the same thing and prevented financial disaster.
If you follow the news media then you'll have all your info all wrong.

Beck didn't forecast shit. His advisors may have, but not him. Ever notice how Glenn boy gets on his gold buying spree? Of course, he only expounds the immediate need to purchase gold when prices are high, so he can sell his and cash in. Only morons buy gold when prices spike.

You need to spend more time standing below the chemtrails.
