The power port might say 20A, but I would bet dollars to doughnuts that it is connected with a 16awg wire.
Yeah that radio needs amperage to fully do what it can and that won't come from an auxiliary socket. Can you, yes. Will it perform to full potential, no. As @Shadetree Mechanic said, I'd put money that those are nowhere near 12 awg wire to supply that socket.
If the socket is rated for 20A, it will have 12 AWG wires. If not, then Ford is asking for a lawsuit when someone burns up their car. A good way to tell for sure is by looking up the amperage rating for the fuse in the aux socket circuit. 20A or higher and you're good to go.
FWIW, my 6666 pro hits 12A on peaks on SSB at the full 100W output and 10A full output on FM.
For a permanent installation, running wires direct to the battery is always the best way for lots of reasons regardless of what the socket says it'll handle. For a temporary installation though, you'll be fine.

I have a anytone at-6666 or quad 6 an all out great transceiver as all anytones are I think but the carrier output power with the rf power turned all the way down it's dead key is about 15 watts average.
Can I turn this carrier down by adjusting AM PL on the inside of the radio ? And will the AM PL only affect the output power when it's turned down while the AM PH adjust the output when the rf power is turned all the way up ?.
I know on the quad 5 plus the AM power high and power low adjustments are in the service menu and that's how those adjustments affected the output watts and hope it's the same with the quad 6 at-6666.

Just to clarify I'm talking about the original q6 not the pro as I own that one too.
The Am Pl is AM power low so it will adjust the low carrier. Adjust and see what you end up with. I can't remember 100% but you might have to slightly adjust high if it brings it down some. In my experience they came stock with the high power turned a little too high for my liking so I turned mine down to 10 watts high. The radio has plenty of swing to do plenty so they've worked well for me.
That radio should have an RF power control right there on the front of the radio. Top left I think.
Yes sir it does but I set the low and high carriers lower inside. Personal preference here because it was too high for my needs.
