This month's QST has a review. Looks like it was made fairly well from what they had to say about it.
I like that it has a plain 8-pin mic jack....I've grown to really dislike the modular plugs...they just don't hold up well to the tugging of mobile installs.
I'll likely get something for 220 when I move. Not sure I'll put up another antenna at this location now. it's a nice band for sure when I've worked various setups on it. Carries really well and it's a quiet band with little interference on it from other services.
If i had not found a 220 brick amp for dirt cheap at a swap meet a couple of years ago, I would buy one of these. There are a number of really nice 220 linked repeaters here and also some locals on the simplex frequencies. For the price of that Jetstream, I don't know how you go wrong unless 220 just isn't used in your area.
Something I spotted today, a Wouxun that is a 2m/220 handheld...the same model in 2m/440, a few friends bought and tested on a service monitor...comes up whistle clean and they sound great on the air. Very nice audio.
