I looked at my antenna today and was wondering if your talking about just flipping the factory insulator over?

Yes you got it,

The original p500 had the long side up through the hole in the bracket which gives you a reasonable insulative path length above and below the bracket,

short side up is asking for trouble with rain & dirt causing mischief.

Makes you wonder why it was shipped to me backwards of the way it should be. That's been giving it a bad reputation. Anybody ever put sealant at the top of the insulator?

Weather proof heat shrink works good
