New Radio - Magnum S3 350

myself i think its just too much stuff generating too much heat in too small of a package . id much rather have a separate amp . but , if you just absolutely can not have/use a separate amp the high powered radios do serve a purpose .

BTW where can you talk on 350 watts that 175 wont make the trip to ?

why would you want one? an AM/FM only cb is like a bird with no vagina, FUCKING USELESS.
Truckers will love it. A single radio, with no extra amp? This will allow many truckers to comply with company regs about extraneous equipment. And it has that Top-Gun modulator so it's going to be LOUD!

Poifeck!

VA3ES nailed it - truckers who can't have a radio + box will dig this radio.

Guys who run the bowl or are big AM DX talkers in that crowd. Or the guy who lives in an area with a local AM channel where the locals always play king of hill for loud radios.

For someone looking for an AM only loud talking powerful radio this one fits the bill.

Also, "superbowlers" and the crowd that talks AM DX will love it too.

hmmmmmmmm.......i don't know many superbowlers that use a RADIO that has more then 2 transistors in it. and i DON'T mean 2290's or 2879's. heck, most are keying less then 7 and swinging less then 15 on a bird......rms. wannabe's try these types of radios on the bowl. they get in a couple of quick hit & run contacts, while the big boys are 'on the bowl', when they get back 'to the bowl', the wannabe's string is snapped.

sam and eric on the other hand are buying new benzes i hear ;-)

I think you're exactly right. This is a radio that can get you on the bowl and make a couple of contacts. You aren't going to be locking it down (although conditions can do that for you on occasion) but it will get you heard in between the big stations and that can be fun.

Isn't this radio advertised as a 10 meter radio? they can only be sold legally to licensed amateur operators who happen to drive a truck and you should be ashamed for suggesting that the average run of the mill cb/truck operator can have this radio.

no 300 watt radio is gonna get you on the bowl, unless your running it into a big beam setup. you might get a contact now n then on ch28 or some other channel but surely not on ch6 .

I've been on the bowl with a barefoot radio with a gp, it's no different than any other channel in the 11 meter band and subject to the same propagation conditions as any other channel.

Granted that there are many stations on there with big power but I have cut Big Papa Pump off with my mobile doing 1k pep and boy was he mad.
