get a anytone 5555 half the price and loaded with features.they sell 198.00 brand new on ebay i own one its a pleasure to operate.I have the v6 version and its 30watts ssb 12 am and 40fm i talk all over the world barefoot with it.Last night had a qso with a guy in papau new guinea over 9000 miles away.At night non skip talk i talk 70 miles from my antron.Its got digital echo that sounds great its programmable by pc or right from the front of the radio.You can even tune it without opening it.Radio is loaded with features and cheaper than other radio and its very stable.

I have owned a washington a 2510 chipswitched a magnum 257 a magnum s3 a 2950dx3 still got that one and my anytone and spent a brief time with a vr9000.For a am radio hands down that little s3 was a beast but for all around i like this anytone 5555 on am its great talking skip all over on like 10 12 watts and sideband its amazing.

i will agree that the Anytone AT-5555 version6 is a great radio! mine was dead on freq usb,lsb, and if it did need adjustment you can do it in the menu. i had mine on for several hours today and never went off freq. it has so many options and features and talks and receives great, and setup with the pc cable is fast and easy

I had to adjust mine but wasnt a big deal didnt have to open the radio having golden screwdrivers in there.The anytone in my opinion due to the fact that you can do everything from the front makes it ideal for those who want a virgin radio.I wouldnt even tune it up it does great as is.
