It was only about 5 yrs ago, that people growing these big guys was wondering if they could ever get one over 2000 lbs, well it has now been done several times and here is the proof.

Forgot... this was grown in Belgium.

Pretty much all of today's giant pumpkin producing seeds are traced back to a local guy here by the name of Howard Dill. He experimented with cross-breeding various types and came up with the Dill's Atlantic Giant variety. He often joked that after holding the world record others were beating him using seeds they purchased from him. Sadly he passed away several years ago.

As for what you can do with a pumpkin that size, how about a boat. LOL This is an annual event a couple miles away here in Windsor.

Near Half Moon Bay CA, they have a pumpkin festival each year as well. One of the local CB operators I've known since I'd been on CB - enters it, both he and his sons were involved. He never took any place; but he did grow some really big squash!
