New Ronson UV-8r: same as Baofeng UV-5r?

I bought a Baofeng UV-r5 a month or so ago and am very pleased with it. I got the programming cable a use Chirp programming software with it ans my Yaesu 857d. My opinion on the UV-5r is it is an excellent radio, I use it by itself with rubber ducky antenna or connected to a magnet roof mount 144 and 440 antenna or connected to my beam when I am hooked to my dialysis machine. I don't have any complaints works fine for 60 bucks to me..

Can you post a link to the Chirp your using . The software I found is not working, it's Chirp, but may have an earlier build.

Let's see they have very poor adjacent channel rejection for starters most are off frequency out of the box..... You get what you pay for.....

Yes, adjacent channel rejection sucks but since I'm in a rural area it's not a problem.

As for frequency, mine is dead on both 2m and 70cm.

It's a $55 radio, I'm just thrilled it works...

Coax question. I just put up a new Sirio monsoon base antenna with 100’ of rg8u coax testing with myMFJ antenna analyzer shows 1.4 swr at 26.965mhz and a 1.1 at 27.405 mhz . When I checked the ohms it’s steady a 30 ohms across the entire bandwidth.

Is 30 ohms worth worrying about in a 100’ run of rg8u ?
