They sure have nice products!!! This looks to be a nice simpified radio that would be really nice for the newer operator aswell as someone who just loves the Ten Tec line of radios and equipment. I wonder how long untill we see these listed?? Few months maybe??

gee, that rig kinda looks a lot like another radio.

i like AM & FM being an extra cost option, i never use those modes, so i wouldn't have to pay for them.

... and it has IF DSP too:thumbup:.

btw, i was at the TT hamfest, it was (as usual) GREAT!!!

iI have always added AM filters and FM boards to my HF radios and I also find myself not even using these modez to even really have worried about it LMAO!!

I've always wanted a TEN TEC!

I've been looking at this rig and I think this one will make me finally take the plunge! The specs. look good and the small footprint, DSP and tuner will be welcome additions.

My current H.F. equipment consists of a Heathkit HW-7, Yaesu FT-817ND and a Kenwood TS- 430S into a g5rv @ 25ft.
I think I'm due for something new.

TEN TEC

WHY another DOG UGLY radio from Ten Tec? I guess looks are NOT important to them but the are to me & many others!:lol:

SIX-SHOOTER

This might be an oversimplification; but I've never seen a HF radio with so few switches, knobs, or buttons. Must have limited functionality - or a lot of functions must be in the SDR side of it - if it has one.

I wonder if the 141 dB blocking dynamic range compensates for the 0.5 uV SSB sensitivity?

Otherwise, it's deaf as a post in a world where we have Japanese radios posting 0.13 - 0.15 uV sensitivity all day long.

I think my Cobra 148GTL is 0.25 uV on SSB and cost me 1/20th what this TenTec goes for.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm..............................

The 0.5 on SSB is with Preamp off. On its probally near 0.18
Robb this isn't a CB ! It doesn't need a bunch of knobs or buttons doing useless functions.

Now that figures.... THANKS! In that case, it's probably a pretty hot receiver.

Besides TenTec & Elecraft, is/are there any other amateur transceivers born & bred in the U.S.?

Too bad it doesn't have dual receive.... I'm still partial to the K3 or the Icom 7600 so far.

LOL!
But the Ten Tec doesn't have many controls as one would expect with any Ham rig. My Icom IC-718 has more controls on the front than the Ten Tec does - and it is considered a minimalist rig. Take - for example - my Kenwood TS-2000. Yeah, it's a 'Swiss Army knife' kind of radio with 2m/440 in it too. Just compare the two - that is my point . . .

I don't know man......

as you can see from my HF set-up in my signature pic I'm a huge fan of a high KSI ratio (Knobs per Square Inch)
