As low on the truck as that mount sits, you’d probably want the longest shaft you can get for the Wilson.
I'm new to the world of cb radio's and im needing some help with my antenna setup. I currently drive a 2019 Casadia and have a new Cobra 29. For my antenna from the radio to the Wilson 2000 are all Wilson products. Im getting ant warning light and 3+ swr ( used external meter). Nothing I tried has helped. Ran a ground to door hinge bolt with the same results. Using a perch through the mirror mount.
I connected to the factory antenna built in to the freightliner. Swr dropped to 1.2 on channel 19, however the warning light still flickers and im lucky to get 1 mile range. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Six Shooter with the freightliner junk antenna the light flickers with 1:2 swr however very low range under 1 mile. With the wilson connected it is solid red with 3 plus swr.I have several Cobra 29 LTD models (Bluetooth,Chrome,& Regular models) & even on my Dummy Load the SWR warning light flickers when I speak into the microphone with an almost Perfect SWR.I don't pay any attention to the Idiot light because I know the radios are working just fine.

Bone stock 29, so 4 watt. Not sure where to go with it. With the swr on both channels 1 and 40 reading about even (3:5). I understand the concept of tuning the antenna with one channel being higher or lower. Don't understand how to lower the swr with what I have. I have another coax that I haven't tried yet. What is the wattage output from the radio? Have you attempted to tune the Wilson at all? The PL-259 connector could be bad or the coax as well?

Im feeling your pain. It's a mission now. LolRemindes me of a sterling I drove years ago. I played with antennas, grounding, coax and brackets for a year before I got a good match.
What really did it for me was a ground from bracket to top hinge, then to bottom hinge then to frame. I also grounded the cab to the frame.
